Types of manuscripts
The journal supports the following types of contributions: research papers (5000 – 15000 words, 10 references minimum), review articles (3000 – 15000 words, 25 academic references minimum), opinion papers (1000 – 10000 words, no reference limit), technical papers (3000 – 10000 words, no reference limit). Interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary contributions are particularly welcome.
Research papers include significant contributions to knowledge in the corresponding scientific field. They must develop novel methods, approaches, frameworks, or their innovative applications. Papers that study the application of the established methods or technologies in a non-conventional context are also welcome, if they are convincing and justified.
Review articles provide a comprehensive outlook on the present state of the art in a specific research area or practice. They must present the information in a systemic manner, providing all significant perspectives on the matter at hand, even when studying a local research problem. It is expected that a review article guides the readers towards the most promising directions of research or practice.
Opinion papers include subjective yet professional assessments of a specific issue of importance for science and society. Particularly, we welcome submissions on the most recent and relevant challenges for society related to science, technology, or development.
Technical papers provide applications of highly intelligent and comprehensive technologies, methods, and frameworks to obtain the relevant practical solutions. The technical papers may include descriptions of successful industrial projects with details or insights useful for the readers. Advertising technical papers are not welcome.
Peer Review Process
Aurora: A Journal of Contemporary Science is a multidisciplinary academic journal that follows a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript is initially assessed by our editors to determine suitability for publication in the journal based on its scope and compliance with the minimum quality requirements. Submissions that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two external expert reviewers with subject expertise to assess the scientific quality of the paper. Authors and reviewers remain anonymous during the review process and after publication. Based on the reports of the reviewers, the handling editor makes one of the following decisions: accept, revise, or reject. In the case of a revision, authors are invited to submit a response to reviewers along with a revised version of the manuscript. Decision is final, but resubmission as a new substantially changed article is allowed.
Editors are not involved in decisions on manuscripts they have authored themselves, or that have been written by family members, close collaborators, or that concern topics in which they have a competing interest. In such cases, the editorial process is handled independently of the conflicted editor and their research group, following standard procedures of the journal.
